Born in Chester, South Carolina, Dr. Sconyers graduated from Chester Senior High School in 1986. He then attended Furman University from 1986 to 1990, graduating cum laude with a bachelors in political science. From there Dr. Sconyers attended the Medical University of South Carolina, College of Dental Medicine, in Charleston, South Carolina. While there he was vice president of his class for all four years. Dr. Sconyers graduated with honors from MUSC in 1994 with a D.M.D. degree. After MUSC, He completed a General Practice Residency, two extra years of training in advanced dentistry, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was then selected from his class of residents to practice as an associate with one of the residencies most respected attending doctors, in the town of Clinton, Tennessee. This was a great opportunity for Dr. Sconyers to continue his dental education under the tutelage of an incredible dental practitioner while gaining invaluable real world experience.
Wanting to return home to South Carolina, Ron and his wife Elizabeth began looking for a place to settle in the upstate and begin a family. They purchased Anderson Family Dental Care from Dr. William Simmons in 1998.
In 2001, Ron invited his old friend, Dr. John Hollingsworth, to join him in his practice. John joined the practice as a partner, and they continued to work together providing the excellent care their patients have come to expect.
Dr. Sconyers is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the South Carolina Dental Association, the Piedmont District Dental Society, the Tri-county Dental Society, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Ron is an avid pupil of the dental arts and believes that he must be a "life-long student" to be able to provide quality dental care to his patients. With that in mind, he continues to study and advance his knowledge of dentistry by attending continuing education courses throughout the year, receiving more than three times the amount required by the South Carolina Board of Dentistry.
The only thing Dr. Sconyers loves more than dentistry is his family. He considers being a husband to Elizabeth and a dad to his three children (Leila, Wren, and Townes) the best thing he has ever done. They are his pride and joy. Dr. Sconyers and his family are active members of the community and their church, the New Covenant Church in Anderson. Their faith in Christ is a guiding force in thier lives. Dr. Sconyers strives daily to exemplify and share Christ's love to those he interacts with.
Dr. Sconyers feels very strongly that community service is a cornerstone of life. Giving back to the community that has given so much to his family is an essential part of being a responsible citizen. With that in mind he has been a member of the Anderon Sertoma Club, a service club, where he has served as President and Chairman of the Board of Directors. He has also served on the boards of Habitat for Humanity, Tri-County Younglife, the Sunshine House, and the United Way Campaign. He is a founding board member of Leadership Next, a countywide initiative designed to encourage and inspire the next generation of community leaders. Ron's true passion is his role as the Director of the Free Clinic's Dental Department, where he coordinates dental volunteers, serves as the clinics primary dental provider, and administrates the operation of the volunteer dental clinic. Through this he is able to use his gifts as a dentist to provide care for those unable to receive it due to financial difficulties.
When not practicing dentistry, Ron enjoys spending time with his family and friends, camping and spending time in the great outdoors. He loves cycling the many back roads of the upstate and hiking the many trails nearby (if you see him hiking along one of those trails, he'll more than likely have his fly rod in tow). He is a huge sports fan and loves to cheer on his beloved Furman Paladins. Go Dins!

He finished Clemson University in 1990 and went to The Medical University of South Carolina at Charleston to study dentistry. In 1995, Dr. Hollingsworth and his wife, Lynn, moved to his home town of Greenwood where he worked with his father and ran a successful practice for six years. In 2001, he decided to sell his practice and join his friend and dental school class-mate, Dr. Ron Sconyers as a partner in Anderson Family Dental Care.

He enjoys treating people of all walks of life and strives to use a common sense approach to meet their dental wants and needs.
Sharing the love of Jesus in his practice is Dr. Hollingsworth's greatest priority. Nothing is more important to him than his Christian faith and his wife, Lynn and his two children, Jake and Julia.
