Dr. Ronald C. Sconyers
Wanting to return home to South Carolina, Ron and his wife Elizabeth began looking for a place to settle in the upstate and begin a family. They purchased Anderson Family Dental Care from Dr. William Simmons in 1998. In 2001, Ron invited his old friend, Dr. John Hollingsworth, to join him in his practice. John joined the practice as a partner, and they continue to work together providing the excellent care their patients have come to expect.
Dr. Sconyers is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the South Carolina Dental Association, the Piedmont District Dental Society, and the Tri-county Dental Society. Ron is an avid pupil of the dental arts and believes that he must be a "life-long student" to be able to provide quality dental care to his patients. With that in mind, he continues to study and advance his knowledge of dentistry by attending continuing education courses throughout the year, receiving more than three times the amount required by the South Carolina Board of Dentistry. Dr. Sconyers and his wife have two daughters, Leila Katherine, 7, and Wren Elizabeth, 5, and a son, Townes Coleman, 1. Dr. Sconyers and Elizabeth, his wife, are active members of the community and their church, the First Presbyterian Church of Anderson. Dr. Sconyers feels very strongly that community service is a cornerstone of life. He is a member of the Anderson Sertoma Club, a service club, where he has served as President and Chairman of the Board of Directors. He also currently serves on the boards of the Anderson Free Clinic, Habitat for Humanity, Tri-County Younglife, and the United Way Campaign. He is a founding board member of Leadership Next, a countywide initiative designed to encourage and inspire the next generation of community leaders. Ron's true passion is his role as the Director of the Free Clinic's Dental Department, where he coordinates dental volunteers, serves as the clinics primary dental provider, and administrates the operation of the volunteer dental clinic. When not practicing dentistry, Ron enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is a huge sports fan and loves to cheer on his beloved Furman Paladins.
